About the TSO
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra is directed by Peter Oundjian, a dynamic presence in the orchestral world. Currently in his fifth season of an eight year tenure, Peter Oundjian has helped bring the Toronto Symphony Orchestra back from the brink of financial ruin. Mr. Oundjian's concerts draw capacity audiences from all over the country, providing Mississauga rental car travelers with a truly inspired sound. Mr. Oundjian is also responsible for the now-annual Mozart Festival, as well as the New Creations Festival. Born in Toronto, Mr. Oundjian attended the Royal College of Music in London where he was awarded the Golf Medal for Most Distinguished Student and the Stoutzker Price for excellence in violin playing. He is also a visiting professor at the Yale School of Music as well as the Principal Guest Conductor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
