Montreal Symphony Orchestra
The streets are alive with music, orchestra music that is. The Orchestre symphonique de Montreal or the Montreal Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is one of the city’s most popular cultural performing groups. While there have been a number of organizations with this name, the current Montreal Symphony Orchestra traces its roots back to 1934, when Wilfrid Pelletier formed an ensemble called Les Concerts Symphoniques. The MSO became a household name under the directorship of Charles Dutoit in the late 1970’s, and today, Montreal car rental travelers can enjoy the conducting talents of the symphony’s eighth music director, Kent Nagano.
