A museum like no other
Beginning in 1979, the Bata Family opened the Bata Shoe Museum Foundation for footwear research and to house Sonja Bata’s growing shoe collection. In 1985 the collection went on display in their office in the Don Mills area in Toronto. In 1992, the Bata Shoe Museum was opened to the public for the first time on the second floor of the office and retail shop in the downtown area of Toronto. The building

Located on 327 Bloor St. West, in downtown Toronto, the Bata Shoe Museum is open from Monday – Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm except for Thursday (10:00 am – 8:00 pm) and Sunday (12:00 pm – 5:00 pm). Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $6 for students (with ID), and $4 for children. Children under 5 are free.
